Liz Hutton, a missionary with Elim NZ since 1986 is our very own ‘living legend”!
Her stories include:
- negotiating a river infested with crocodiles
- almost crashing in a plane over an offshore island
- being held at gunpoint by rascals and many more!
But she has continued to tirelessly invest into the lives of PNG kids, training hundreds to teach them about following Jesus!
Her vision is to build a training centre for the next generation. Earlier this year they were miraculously able to purchase land and building has began.
PNG Update: “New Generation Children’s Ministry Training Centre”
Paul Lupi, of Blenheim Elim is the Project Manager for the building of the training centre which Liz Hutton has been coordinating. Here is his report following a 3 week visit in March 08.
“Progress is well underway with the first building ready for the roof and cladding upstairs. The moment I stepped on to the site I knew that God was there. The faith around the place was tangible!”
Paul also reports that for every dollar being spent there was three dollars worth of work being done.

To complete the building we require:
- 7 toilets each toilet costs PGK350 approx NZ$270,
- 7 hand basins each hand basin costs PGK400 approx NZ$310,
- 17 doors PGK300 each door costs approx NZ$230
- Kitchen including a double sink, tiles and cupboards PGK4,000 NZ$3,100
