ELIM PRAYS . . .
Global Day of Prayer 2007 celebrations were fantastic,
half billion people around the world joined in united
prayer for the nations and for God's Glory to be shown -
things have shifted!
Look forward to hearing testimonies about how it all
went, and encourage Elim churches to get on board next
year! Blessings!

Christchurch North Elim
We participated in the Global Day of Prayer for the
first time. It was simply fantastic. We have a great
prayer and intercessors team run by one of our Elders,
June Harwood, and June put the day together, had prayer
points, music and a 7 hour roster with people coming in
to the church on an hourly basis. The church was open
from 9:30am to 4:30pm and we had a number of people
involved in prayer as well as one or two others to
answer queries and to point people to the prayer
suggestions posted around the auditorium. The presence
of God was mighty in the church for the whole of this
time and has really encouraged us to be involved in this
event again next year.
Thank you for your encouragement to be involved in this
event for without it we probably would have just written
it off as simply something else to do. It has been very
positive for us as a church and even has us thinking of
doing it again in the near future with special focus on
our local community.
Thanks once again

Elim International Church – Wellington
On Sunday 27th May with the help of some great guys from
TVNZ, a trailer tie down and our trusty gaffer tape we
mixed a microwave dish to the church roof and bounced a
sound and video feed from Elim to Mt Kaukau, to Avalon,
to Auckland to…Jerusalem! At 2.30pm we enjoyed the
privilege of connecting live with GOD TV’s Jerusalem
studio and launching the live 24hr televised coverage of
this years Global Day of Prayer.
Christians in 214 nations watched as we began the day
with the NZ national anthem and a bunch of fervent and
anointed prayers for our nation and our world. We joined
live feeds from Hong Kong, India, England and the USA.
Nations agreed as the combined churches of Wellington
brought a unique Kiwi flavour to the days beginning.
Our coverage was repeated at regular intervals during
the day with the host making many comments of the
heartfelt prayer of NZ that had really impacted them.
When I reflect on how we managed to pull it all together
I can think only of my mate Ric Knott’s song…”I believe
in miracles”…and I do.
NZ and Elim were in the centre of their call that
day…from the nations in the Capitol to the Nations of
the World. Let’s keep up the prayer, we don’t have to be
on International TV to have real effect on our world…but
it sure makes it fun!
A huge cheer should go up to the Coach for his
unswerving commitment and vision to prayer and GDOP and
to the AV team who really “raised the bar”.
Peace
