Global Day of Prayer
Blow the Trumpet!
A Call for Repentance and Prayer
Joel 2
Global Day of Prayer, 23 May 2010
195 Countries
Dear Friends
Sunday 23 May 2010 is a very unique day in the Christian calendars, when the Eastern Orthodox tradition of “Kneeling Day” and the Western tradition of “Pentecost Sunday” converge on the same day. Thus the 10 year celebration of the Global Day of Prayer is very significant in that hundreds of millions of Christians from all over the world will kneel simultaneously in a day of repentance and united prayer before God, expecting the glory of the God to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. (Hab.2:14)
Christians everywhere in the world will assemble to pray. Many will gather in small groups in homes, many will assemble in large stadiums and other public venues. In some places, television, radio and internet will help to connect and align our prayers even more.
It is understandable that in many nations large gatherings or meetings cannot be held but even those gathering in small groups, secret places and underground churches are contributing to raise a canopy of prayer across the world on this one day and are highly valued.
United by a Prayer for the World, Christians from different cultures and denominations will gather to cry out to God for the healing and blessing of our nations.

Let's take our Elim Breakthrough mantle and use it in the area of prayer.
What happens when half a billion people from every nation on earth unite for a day in prayer?
We most certainly create an environment for a whole new dimension of expectation and faith.
Nothing like this has ever happened before in the history of mankind!
We are history makers!
I don't know about you, but my heart was stirred to greater exploits when I realised what we were a part of.
So, as First Nation, where morning dawns and evening fades, let us unite in launching this Global Day of Prayer for the world.
There may be gatherings in your area you can join, or you may be the person to start one.
The resources on the site are brilliant and so easy to access.
There are also resources to facilitate a ten day period of 24/7 prayer leading up to the GDOP itself.
We were amazed to see how many people found the experience of taking part to be transformational in their personal prayer life.
If you are starting a gathering please let us know so that we can see which areas of the nation are covered.
Also feel free to contact us if you want to know if there is an existing group in your area.
